Ammeter
Purpose
Output measured current as signal
Library
Electrical / Meters
Description
The Ammeter measures the current through the component and provides it as a signal at the output. The direction of a positive current is indicated with a small arrow in the component symbol. The output signal can be made accessible in Simulink with an Signal Outport block or by dragging the component into the dialog box of a Probe block.
Note
The Ammeter is ideal, i.e. it has zero internal resistance. Hence, if multiple ammeters are connected in parallel, the current through an individual ammeter is undefined. This produces a run-time error.

- Measured current
The measured current in amperes (\(\mathrm{A}\)).
