Nanostep Out
Purpose
Set a fast analog output from a Nanostep signal source on a RT Box 4.
Description
The output voltage at the unterminated BNC terminal is calculated as input*scale+offset, and is limited to the range -2V to 2V.
The output voltage range at the D-Sub terminal is configured in the Coder Target settings (see section General) to either unipolar or bipolar operation. In the bipolar configuration, the output voltage range is identical to the BNC terminal. In the unipolar configuration, the unterminated output voltage range is shifted by 2V resulting in output voltages from 0V to 4V.
For best signal quality and transmission, the output terminals must be terminated to ground with external resistors (\(50\,\Omega\) for the BNC outputs, \(100\,\Omega\) for the D-Sub outputs). This halves the output voltages.
For convenience, the offline simulation model includes configurable termination resistors, individually for both BNC and D-Sub terminals.
Parameters
General
- Nanostep output channel(s)
Index of the Nanostep output channel. For vectorized output signals a vector of output channel indices must be specified. Valid values range from 0 to 5 to address the six Nanostep outputs of the RT Box 4.
- Scale
A scale factor for the unterminated output signal. Proper termination halves the output signal.
- Offset
An offset for the unterminated scaled output signal. Proper termination halves the output signal.
Offline only
- Port visibility
Select which terminals are added to the subsystem for which code is generated. Enabled terminals are then available in an offline simulation and the block must be placed in the root schematic of the subsystem for which code is generated. If not enabled, no such terminals will be added and the block can be used at any subsystem level.
- BNC termination
If “Terminated” is selected, an additional parameter for the “BNC termination resistance” is shown.
- BNC termination resistance (Ohms)
Enter the termination resistance(s) in Ohms for the BNC terminals in the offline simulation. Only available when BNC termination is configured as “Terminated”.
- D-Sub termination
If “Terminated” is selected, an additional parameter for the “D-Sub termination resistance” is shown.
- D-Sub termination resistance (Ohms)
Enter the termination resistance(s) in Ohms for the D-Sub terminals in the offline simulation. Only available when D-Sub termination is configured as “Terminated”.
